Empowering a Billion Women

The Empowering a Billion Women Foundation is at the forefront of global change, harnessing the power of media, strategic partnerships, and data-driven initiatives to elevate awareness and drive impactful progress around critical issues facing women worldwide. In collaboration with EBW Worldwide, we pave a transformative pathway for women to not just survive, but to truly thrive in every aspect of their lives.

In her global work as an invited Ambassador speaker on behalf of The US State Department, an Emeritus member of the United Nations Foundation’s Global Entrepreneur Council, Ingrid Vanderveldt has seen firsthand how gender inequality can damage a nation’s people, stability and economy because they have:

  • 2.13x the chance of being a fragile state
  • 1.5x the chance of being unstable and violent
  • 1.28x the chance of experiencing terrorism
  • 1.4x the chance of the country being poor and in economic decline
  • 1.5x the chance of having a low GDP per capita
  • 1.8x the chance of scoring worse on the Global Hunger Index

When women business owners have access to contracts and capital, their country decreases hunger, increases the overall health of the population, and counters national and global security concerns with lower levels of international violence.
